2019 Sneakers of the Year

 

1.Off White X Air Jordan 1

This release was one of the most anticipated in the OFF-WHITE X Nike collection. It’s part of the rarest sneaker collection called “The Ten” created by Louis Vuitton mens artistic director and OFF WHITE founder Virgil Abloh. The shoe comes with four different types of laces labeled “Shoelaces” and OFF WHITE has its own traditional branding on the shoe. From the stitching to the Chicago color scheme, the shoe is worth the $350 of retail price.

 
 

3.Nike Hyper React 87

The Nike React Element 87 made its debut at the Paris Fashion week, winning the attention of sneakerheads and fashion designers globally. The translucent upper allows people to experiment  with distinct and patterned socks from ranging from Gucci to a neon green. These lightweight sneakers can be worn for hours without feeling any sign of fatigue on your fee. Nike fans have called the Element 87 the most “stable, and soft, relaxed cushioning” sneaker in the market. The retail price totals $160, and resell for anywhere from $220-350. There’s two colorways of the sneaker that have been released in January.

 
 

5.Nike Air Max 270

The Nike Air Max 270 is a stylish shoe made for running, exercising, and running errands. The multitude of colors and the amount of comfort established within the shoe has made it an easy buy. The 270’s are modeled after the 1991 design of the 180’s the mini swoosh pays homage to the heritage of Nike. They can be found on any website such as Nike and Dick’s but also any store like Foot Locker or Champs for $150.

 

2.Air Jordan Tinker 3 NRG

This sneaker pays homage to the creator of the original Jordan 3, Tinker Hatfield. The 30th anniversary of the shoe is celebrated with a combination of white cement and black cement hues. Swoosh logos are included on both sides to highlight the Nike branding and the history of this legendary shoes. The original price at retail is $200 but can be found on Stock X and Kixify for around $270-300.

 
 

4.Sean Weatherspoon x Nike Air Max 1/97

The Air Max’s have been a lifelong favorite of Sean Weatherspoon, cofounder of the vintage boutique store Round Two. Much of his designs originate Nike hats in the 80’s and vintage clothes. The material is corduroy and the upper, middle, and lower each have a different color to add to the unique style of the shoe. The shoe itself is rich in color and changes colors due to the corduroy material, while under different lights and angles. The shoe released globally in March for $200 and resells on StockX for a heavy price of $825
