If you’re looking for originality in a fashion world that praises fast fashion, you’ve found it. Wole Olosunde, a registered nurse and the creator of “Against Medical Advice,” an apparel and home decor brand. has a unique passion intersecting the medical field and fashion. Olosunde’s garments are meticulously designed with a focus on the human body, its functions, and its shapes.

It’s safe to say that Telfar is establishing itself as THE black-owned luxury brand for everyone to have. Telfar’s mission of creating equitable high fashion has caught the eye of Time Magazine, which recently named owner Telfar Clemons as one of “The Next 100 Most Influential People.” Oh...and Solange did the interview.

Kimberly M. Jenkins is a teacher, consultant and researcher who has worked with brands such as Gucci and at institutions such as the Parsons School of Fashion in New York. She works to bring social and racial equity to the forefront of fashion. On Kimberley’s Instagram, she speaks about the history of fashion to provide insight and education for brands and their consumers.

Raven Tracy, owner of the brand BODY!, has made her name by creating a brand that values body inclusivity and women of all shapes and sizes. BODY! is known for its iconic “Backshot” matching sweatsuit, worn by Meg Thee Stallion, and also recently came out with a bathing suit worn by Lori Harvey.

Created by Leomie Anderson in 2016, the brand focuses on the function of athletic wear but also centers around the experience of women. Lapp Magazine is an extension of the brand that reports on topics including social injustice, mental health, and all things beauty and fashion. It’s also a great place to pitch stories. They’re always seeking new writers.

Sweet Talk Swim is a swimsuit and apparel brand owned by @cheyanderson. If you are into tiny bikinis, tops, and dresses, this brand is absolutely for you. Not to mention, they are always coming out with new colors and designs.

Twiley TM‘s Instagram bio is, “Where Fly, Classy, & Edgy Meet.” This is definitely a great description of the brands’ one-of-a-kind two-piece sets, dresses and upcoming loungewear line. You will not find pieces like these other places on the internet.

Skin Kini is an LA-based swim line with suits everyone will need this summer. The brand has nudes bikinis as well as neon colors, and some even have a matching skirt to add to the set.

Owned by MelianJ, who describes herself as a “sustainable and ethical designer.” Her apparel and loungewear line has beautiful two-piece sets with a raw hemmed edge in both navy blue and an off-white, and their newest line is filled with one-of-a-kind denim wear and jewelry. MelianJ’s account also offers sound advice on spirituality.

A fashion brand owned by the rapper @yg who has been making clothing centering around the black experience in America for years now. Most recently, the brand has dropped a Spring 2021 line with red, black and white crew necks, graphic tees, and signature hats.

Simply living her life and every second of it is glamorous. Her account reflects her unparalleled fashion sense that comes from knowing more than what comes up on people’s feeds. Her account does not aim to work within quick trends, clout gear, or anything of the sort.

Heather Sanders is the owner of Sorella Boutique, a clothing store located on Melrose Ave in Los Angeles, California. Sorella Boutique is the perfect place to buy every classic you need: leggings, pullovers, tank tops, sunglasses, hats and it's constantly coming out with new clothing. Sanders is not just a business owner, but a pure creative boss in every sense of the word. She runs a YouTube series with her husband Tarell, is a mom of three kids who are each featured in her new children’s line, and is always expanding her entrepreneurial reach.

Aerin Creer is an all-around creative whose outfits never skip a beat. Her outfit choices are anywhere from comfortable fashion to straight show stoppers. She offers you a full range of inspiration and often good advice about fashion on her Instagram stories as well.

Randijah S is the owner of the apparel line, ByDij, and the creative studio, The Babe Cave LA, located in downtown LA. Randijah is clearly a multifaceted creative, but her works have core values: inclusivity, solidarity, and safety. The clothing line, ByDij , has sweaters that state proudly, “PROTECT AND RESPECT BLACK WOMEN.” Their studio also clearly states that it is a safe space, especially for womxn, and that it does not tolerate predatory behavior. These creative spaces are especially important when considering the history of predatory “creatives'' preying on womxn in the entertainment industry.

Shelby is a model whose beauty has swept campaigns and magazines over the last year. She was most recently featured in Maxim with her partner, Brandon Almengo, a photographer and creative as well. The duo is an unstoppable pair in the industry and most recently they welcomed a baby girl to the world, who will surely be part of their legacy.

TLZ L’FEMME is an apparel brand by Aazhia whose one-of-a-kind work can not be duplicated. A signature look of the brand is long straps hanging from their pants, sweaters, dresses, and skirts. They also offer vibrant gold, purple, black fishnet dresses that have likely never been done before. The line can most recently be seen on Issa Rae’s Paper Magazine Interview.

Kai is an artist that crosses all creative bounds. Dey is a model, poet, speaker, writer, activist and dey are always creating. Kai was featured on Louis Vuitton‘s Peculiar Contrast, Perfect Light production. This was an important moment for queer, P.O.C. and Black communities. Kai’s expression reflects dey’re dedication to bringing emotions to material expression.

Lyric Mariah is a model in LA who’s been seen on many well-known brands including Dolls Kill and Savage X Fenty by Rihanna. Mariah inspires people with her words and her expanding modeling career.

Monti is a mother, wife and owner of the swimwear brand, Riot Swim. The brand has grown in popularity, as each customer boasts of the bathing suits’ silky texture and irreplaceable feel. The brand’s color range includes royal blues, coffee browns, neons, neutrals and more.
